Tanju Babacan was born in 1968 in Germany. By the time he was in middle school his parents realized his talent and sent him to Mediha Yener Fashion Design School. Throughout the years he tried and learned wide range of art disciplines. In 1991 he won his first award in fashion industry in a competition by TGSD and the award was presented to him by Vitali Hakko.
Tanju Babacan then started his haute couture journey with Gurnar Capa and soon after that continue on solo as Tanju Babacan Haute Couture. His brilliance in design and concept making made him the first choice of TV productions, commercials, singers, on stage performances, politicians etc.
His creativity has no boundaries and he wanted to reach to a bigger audience so in 2013 he started Redbeard brand. Redbeard is a fast Couture brand that carries lines from his Haute Couture background and is available to everyone. Tanju Babacan has always been socially conscious designer. With that in mind; he taught in different places including but not limited to Milano University and many other institutions. He also volunteered in many different projects. With all that in mind in 2017 he started Buddypa brand. This is a company has a buy one give one principle. With every sale they gifted necessary items to kids in need in Turkey. Same year Tanju Babacan wrote his first book Tereddüt which had four editions and was published by Inkilap Kitabevi.
