Born in 1973, Hatice Gökçe graduated from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts and established her own design atelier in 1998. A pioneer in Turkey’s men’s fashion design, Gökçe was awarded her first professional prize in a 1998-competition for Best Design. A year later, she also won the Unique Design Award in Japan. As the founder and board member of the Fashion Designers Association of Turkey (MTD), Gökçe has been actively involving in civil society projects. Since 2008, she’s been working as the brand coordinator of the UN-supported social responsibility project “Argande”. Gökçe presented the Leather Age Project respectively to a large audience in Beijing and Shangai.

She is known for her experimental approach to use of new materials and shapes to reflect in her designs not only the perfect balance between the harmony of nature and the assertions of technology, but also the comfort and detail, lushness and profundity.
