In her FW2021 collection, Çiğdem Akın develops a new argument against the obscure environment we are going through at a global scale. Believing in a future where it is possible to live in a different way, the designer sheds light on the fact that all the teachings we call experience actually captivate us.

Silk chiffon, wool, cashmere and velvet fabrics find their place in the collection, which is dominated by luxury fabrics with brocade weaving. The theme color of the collection is dark sky blue, which includes cherry, purple and deep black as well. Blue, which is defined as cold on color basis but warm on energy basis, in a way symbolizes the harmony of contrasts. Just as Dante describes the deepest place of Hell as a blue ice layer in flames, Çiğdem Akın is inspired by all these contrasts of life and death.

With her new collection, Çiğdem Akın blesses women who have the courage to remain as themselves, no matter what stage of their life is, with what kind of people and in whatever environment.

Given the power of fashion to influence masses with its new forms of expression, will this new approach that the designer is preparing to face her audience with, find a response? Who knows?
